Not all travel insurance policies are the same. Don’t assume that a standard travel insurance policy will cover you for business trips or executive travel – many policies specifically exclude this. Look for a policy that offers payment for cancellation and curtailment, missed or delayed departure and cover for lost baggage. You’ll also need to be covered for a replacement passport if lost, stolen or destroyed and cover for legal expenses.
Cancellation Cover
Sometimes we simply can’t plan for the unexpected. Flights are booked, hotels arranged and conferences scheduled so, what would you do if illness meant you or your staff couldn’t travel?
This is where a comprehensive business travel insurance policy comes in. You’ll normally be covered for travel tickets, cancellation fees and the cost of sending out a replacement delegate if necessary. Don’t lose out – make sure you’re covered for all eventualities and avoid paying ‘no-show’ costs.
Business Documents and Equipment Cover
Business travellers generally carry valuables such laptops, smart phones, even projectors and valuable data. Easily identifiable, laptops are an easy target and losing yours could be catastrophic. Many policies can offer cover to replace lost, damaged or stolen laptops up the value of £1500.
If specific business documents are destroyed, damaged, lost or stolen, you could also be covered for the replacement of these documents (it’s always worth backing up your documents before you travel).
Corporate Travel Insurance
If you’re looking for a policy that designed to cover your employees, whether they’re travelling for business or pleasure then there's a range of corporate travel products to help offer a flexible solution. Whatever the size of your business, it’s simple – as long as your employees are medically fit to travel, your insurance should be valid.
