Policy Expert is a trading name of QMetric Group Limited who is regulated and authorised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), FSA registered number 529506.     The FSA is the independent watchdog that regulates financial services. Use this information to decide if our services are right for you. QMetric's permitted activities are for insurance services only.

    Policy Expert works with a number of reputable third parties to offer you the products and services on this site. We represent the insurers on our panel to offer and sell a range of insurance products and we operate under their delegated authority in relation to the provision of insurance policies and schemes.

    We do not have a direct or indirect holding representing more than 10% of the voting rights or capital in a given insurance undertaking. Neither does a given insurance undertaking or its parent undertaking have a direct or indirect holding representing more than 10% of the voting rights or capital in the firm. By asking a series of questions we endeavour to identify your insurance needs and provide you with the most appropriate quotes from our panel of insurers as well as the necessary information to enable you to make an informed decision when buying any of the products and services that we offer.

    Please note that our main business is to offer the most appropriate quotes based on the information provided. We do not offer advice or make recommendations about which of our products and services will be most suitable to your needs. You will then need to make your own choice about how to proceed. If you are unsure then we suggest that you seek advice from an independent insurance adviser who will be able to help you make the right decision.

  • How to Cancel Your Policy

     

    You may cancel any policy at any time during the policy term. In the event that you cancel a policy:

    • Within the first 14 days after purchase
      You will not be charged a cancellation fee and you will receive a full refund of premium if you have not made a claim.
    • More than 14 days after purchase
      You will be charged a £25 cancellation fee as well as being charged pro-rata for the number of days your policy has been active. Due to administration costs we will not refund amounts of less than £5 if you cancel a policy at this time. If You have already made a claim under Your Policy there will be no refund available.

    If you wish to cancel your policy we'd like you to tell us why; your feedback is essential to helping us provide the best products and services to our customers. Therefore, we require all cancellation requests, together with your comments, to be sent to us in writing either by email to ask@policyexpert.co.uk or post to: Policy Expert, Silbury Court East, 402 – 420 Silbury Boulevard, Milton Keynes, MK9 2AF.

    Policy Expert reserves the right to cancel any policy immediately and for whatever reason. We will, however, always endeavour to inform you prior to cancelling any policy.

    Our Charges

    In some circumstances we may charge:

    • £10 to cover the cost of posting documentation
    • £25 to cover costs incurred to handle defaulted payments or returned cheques

    We do not charge any administration fees for amending your policy mid-term

    What will you have to pay us for our services?

    You will receive a quotation which will tell you about any other fees relating to any particular insurance policy.

    How to Renew Your Policy

    Your policy, with your agreement, will be automatically renewed to ensure your continuous cover and security. However, we will keep you informed of your renewal date and the premium in advance so that you can contact our renewals team on 0845 4 100 800 or by email at ask@policyexpert.co.uk if you have any questions or if you do not wish to renew the policy. We cannot accept any requests to discontinue a policy that we receive within 7 days of the renewal date.

    What We Need From You

    In order for us to provide insurance quotations and policies that adequately cover your insurance needs we require you to provide us with complete and accurate information. You should be aware that incorrect information supplied by you or failure to disclose relevant information could invalidate your insurance. We may, from time to time, need to inform you of changes or services offered by Policy Expert and it is important that we have your up to date contact and correspondence details. If you change your telephone number, address or email address please contact us by using our online form or call us on 0845 4 100 800.

    How to Make a Payment

    You can pay for your purchases online via our website using your credit or debit card.

    After you have made a payment, Netbanx, our hosted payment provider, will keep a record of your credit or debit card details so that we can make any necessary refunds at a later date.

    How We Handle Your Money

    We act as an agent of the insurers on our panel for the collection of premiums and handling of refunds due to clients. Your position is protected as premiums are treated as being received by the insurer when received in our bank account and a premium refund is treated as being received by you, when you actually receive it. This money will still be held in a Trust Account so as to provide further protection until paid to the insurer. We receive commission in respect of each policy we arrange which may vary according to the insurer and/or type of insurance policy.

    Treating our customers fairly is central to our culture and we continually aim to provide you with a first class service. However, there may be times when you feel we have not done so. If this is the case, we would rather be told about it so that we can do our best to resolve the problem. If you feel that you have not been treated fairly or have a complaint about any aspect of the service that we provide then please contact us by using our online form or call us on 0845 4 100 800.     We aim to resolve complaints within 24 hours. However, in certain circumstances it may not be possible to do so. If this is the case we promise to provide you with a written response to your complaint within 14 days of receiving it.

    If there is a disagreement between us which we cannot resolve to your satisfaction you can refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) who, once contacted, will liaise with us on your behalf.     We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim.

    For compulsory classes of insurance, insurance advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the claim, without any upper limit.

By agreeing to these T&Cs you are responsible for all activities that occur in connection with your Policy Expert account. Therefore, it is important that you contact us immediately on 0845 4 100 800 if you suspect that there has been a breach of your account's security.

    Due to the nature of the internet, any messages that you send to us by way of email can't be guaranteed to be secure. Therefore, we would ask you not to use your email to send us confidential information such as your credit or debit card information.

    The terms and conditions of use of this website shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and any dispute regarding this website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

    Customers must submit their insurance enquiry online via the Policy Expert website using the link provided. Vouchers will not be paid for enquiries made over the phone.

    In order to qualify customers must purchase a policy by the end of February 2012.

    Voucher is based on a 'last click wins' basis, i.e. if your most recent enquiry was not made via a link on the applicable voucher site, vouchers will not be paid.

    Offer is subject to a 30-day validation period from policy start date.

    Vouchers will not be paid out in the event a policy is cancelled within 30-days of policy start date.

    Only one Voucher will be awarded per UK address.

    Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer.
